Ossian has developed a line of environmentally friendly liquid de-icers for highway, sidewalk and parking lot use. Whether applied by traditional spray equipment or Ossian’s liquid sidewalk sprayer, these products can reduce or eliminate chlorides, prevent ice formation, save costs, labor and the environment.

The market is full of products claiming to be effective on ice but also safe for pets. The important thing to remember when using ice melters is that any sort of chemical used to melt ice creates a briney slush that can be an irritant for the paws of your pets if they walk through it. Always remove the melted ice and snow with a shovel so that your pet can safely walk on a the cleared path.

The Case Against Magnesium Chloride. Due to the wealth of scientific information on the concrete damaging effects of magnesium chloride, Ossian has phased out of our usage of the chemical in all our formulations. We feel that the case against magnesium chloride is strong enough that we do not feel comfortable recommending it to our customers.
